🏝️Have you visited the island of Peng Chau? Lamma or Cheung Chau tend to be the two most popular ones for day trips but i would urge you to pop over to Peng Chau for a look if you can! I love to wander there.
💾 I was there recently and thought you might like a few tips:
⛴️There’s an ordinary ferry (less than HK$20 M-F) and a fast ferry (HK$37 M-F). Weekends are more expensive but still less than HK$30 for ordinary ferry (HK$55/adult for fast). Kids under 3 always travel for free.
⏱️25/30 mins by fast ferry, 40 mins by ordinary ferry.
⚓️Ferry goes from Pier 6.
🚶🏼Easy and relaxing trail around the island.
🥾Walk up to the viewpoint on Finger Hill - the highest point of the island where you have a clear view of Tsing Ma Bridge and HK Disneyland.
📉Don’t worry the elevation is less than 100m so suitable for beginners and small kids.
⏰4-5 hours is plenty to get a good feel for PC so can make a morning + lunch or afternoon of it.
🥚Lots of yummy bakeries and street food. We like the tea eggs, coconut tarts, sausage rolls and the egg tarts.
🙏Several lovely temples including Tin Hau Temple built in 1798.
🎨Super instagrammable “Junk Yard” art installation. To get there walk down Wing On Street and keep your eye out for a colourfully graffitied doorway bearing the sign ‘Leather Factory’ and step through there!
🏖️Lovely beaches and places to stop and soak it all in.
🧒🏽It’s a very peaceful, colourful island. Perfect for kids.
