This story introduces children to concepts of inclusivity through a simple story that demonstrates everyone is valuable no matter what they look like or what they like.
About the author:
D. A. Knight was raised in Hong Kong and cannot imagine life anywhere else in the world. He was inspired to write this book because he wanted to give his daughter a city book with apartment scenes she can relate to. Professionally, Knight is a Creative Director, responsible for building the brands of several renowned Chinese tech companies.
About the illustrator:
Natalie Hui best selling children’s illustrator with books and products available at major bookstores across Hong Kong. She created a diverse cast of characters for Gailan’s Special Job with particular consideration to different ethnic backgrounds amidst a common cultural context which celebrates the stories of an international family living in Hong Kong.
