Featuring our classic Imperial Blue underglaze, 'Hong Kong Homage' is a celebration of so much that we love about this amazing city.
It features Hong Kong's iconic skyline in all its sub-tropical glory, depicting the daily details of HK life, against the backdrop of its famous Victoria Peak.
With a touch of nostalgia and whimsy, auspicious symbols combine to celebrate the city's rich culture and history.
The unique design is based on a specially-commissioned watercolour by Singapore-based artist Fleur Kakasi.

The butterfly is a symbol of happiness as well as matrimonial joy. Butterflies together represent longevity, because the Chinese name for butterfly sounds like the word, repeat meaning a long life
This is a vintage lamp and the jars may show some signs of age.
Ruyi, or Fungus, featured here at the top of the jar, are identifiable by a 3 curved design. They're often mistaken for bats or clouds. This common border pattern is a homophone for the Chinese expression 'As you wish' or 'To follow one's heart's desire'.

The Ginger Jar Lamp Co. pairs vintage Chinese Ginger Jars with colourful artisan lamp shades to create contemporary, limited-edition table lamps. Their range has expanded to include contemporary Ginger Jar designs and art work celebrating Hong Kong and Singapore. British expat Kate Sbuttoni founded the business in 2017, after a 'light bulb' moment during a trip to China with girlfriends. She discovered piles of dusty ginger jars at an antiques market and decided to make one into a lamp - the rest is history.
