Eddie was born in Indonesia, of Chinese parentage, and loved to paint as a child. He moved to China and became an educated urban youth, working in the countryside in the midst of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Everywhere he was surrounded by poverty food deprivation and desperate living conditions, yet he continued to draw - even if the only paper he could find was bathroom tissue. In 1992 Eddie moved to Hong Kong and continues to paint his rural landscape and urban cityscapes of Hong Kong.
