A recipe book evoking memories of growing up in a Hong Kong - Chinese Hakka immigrant family in England. Produced in memory of a great, strong, Hakka woman, who loved to cook and feed people. A book filled with traditional Hakka dishes such as Braised Pork Belly and Yam and Cantonese favourites like Sweet and Sour Pork and Yeung Chow Fried Rice. Interlaced with anecdotal stories and images from family and friends who experienced her love and warmth through her cooking.

About the author:
Born and raised in Birmingham, England, Maria grew up speaking Hakka and enjoying this unique Heritage food prepared by her mother and grandparents who owned Chinese restaurants and takeaways across the city. After moving to Hong Kong in 2004 yearly visits home was filled with these delicious regional dishes prepared with great love by her dear mother. This book was created to share these inspired recipes in memory of her mother and to keep the traditional Hakka heritage alive.
